I have an idea!

I have some yarn - some worsted weight hand dyed yarn - that is not really selling but would make lovely socks and mitts - especially for kids who are in need. So here's the plan - if you promise to knit either socks or mitts (or both) I will send you the yarn for free - then you send the finished products back to me and I will donate them to the Yellow Brick House, which is a shelter for battered women in Aurora. How does that sound? Any takers?

Hi Sheri - when would you need the socks and mittens? I would love to take part if you don't mind the US shipping. Can the mittens be felted, they are warmer that way and almost waterproof?

Sorry Connie - I was talking to my friend Sheri on the phone when I typed the message and typed her name instead (I'll be 50 in December - was I having a senior moment, by the way she laughed her self sick when I told her). I would still love to knit the socks and mittens if you want.

Connie, I've never knitted mittens, but I'll definately knit you some socks for little ones if you like.

What a great and generous idea! Is there a time limit? It's a bit hectic right now. I would love to knit something too, but rather hats. I haven't knit for little kids in quite a while.

Me, too, please. I've got a few more holiday orders to make (silver jewelry) and a show in early December, but after that I will need to do something entirely different, and right now all I want to do is knit. Especially socks.

Got the yarn today! The colors are so GREAT! Perfect for little kids. I'm off to wind the first two skeins!! I'm excited that it came today.
