More posts this May than last May!

Not by much but still there are more May/10 posts! I'm by no means a responsible blogger but I'm at least headed in the right direction. I've been knitting....so that's good, right?

First up is the Woven Scarf from Churchmouse Classics patterns. 3 50g skeins of sock yarn. You can see all the Churchmouse patterns here but you can get them all at Pick Up Sticks. They are a fabulous series of small projects that I think will make Christmas/gift knitting a breeze.

Finally some hand spun knitting. This is my Tanis Lemongrass fiber turned into yarn. A sportweight I believe at 17 wpi. Not sure of the amount that I've got because the yarn measurerer thingy crapped out half way through. Just a comfy pair of bed socks!

And Linda delivered the Ulmus Rectangle scarf all done and ready for blocking - it's really so nice and long! I love that in a scarf. Two skeins of Tanis sock blueberry and lilac.
It's going to be a hot one today 31 degrees celsius - does that mean summer is here?

Knitter's Frolic 2010

We had our usual good time this year at the Knitter's Frolic - nothing like being surrounded by knitters to make you feel good! We did very well with the yarn we brought and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth - it was wonderful to see old friends and meet new friends! Now it's time to rest up for Kitchener - should take me about that long to recover.
There's some new spinning wheels on their way to Pick Up Sticks. SpinOlution's Travelling Bee. The first picture shows it folded and the second picture shows it opened. It opens with 2 simple clicks and then off you go, spinning to your heart's content. They are so portable that they actually fit the criteria for airline carry on baggage.

Now why would I want to spin? Because you can make this.....an original yarn using Tanis Fiber Arts Superwash Merino in Lemongrass - I suspect it's close to fingering but haven't measured it yet.
Here's my next spinning project I found this fiber at the Frolic and just had to have it - look for these yarns to make an appearance at Pick Up Sticks in the future!
