Trina Complete!

Trina was cast off the needles last night just before Knit Night began which meant I could happily sit and knit something smaller! Like Flat Feet - have you tried them? I really love knitting them - everything stays all nice and tidy - no balls falling off the couch and rolling under the couch. Now you may ask why am I knitting with Flat Feet - well, because lots of Flat Feet were shipped to Pick Up Sticks last week and should be arriving any day! We also received 90 skeins of Casbah from Handmaiden - I have 3 skeins of Fleur set aside for a Clapotis - I actually had them sitting on the couch beside me last night to encourage me to keep knitting on Trina. I'm trying hard to finish projects on the needles before starting a new one. Or at least finishing one project before starting something new. I also picked up Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn on Monday - it's all online and available to see in person at the shop. I never carried Kureyon Sock because frankly, I wasn't a fan but this one I do like!

As for following my blog - I wasn't really sure what happened when you signed up for that either. But....I've now learned that it links back to your Blogger profile which means that you can get you blog read more easily or read other blogs you are members of.

Still planning the Book Club - 4 of us are in so far! I'll keep you posted about dates and times!

Housekeeping!

It's perfect Fall Sunday - cool and crisp outside! I've been doing some blog house keeping - changing the sidebar around a bit - adding some new features. There's a really cool one where you can sign up to follow my blog - would someone please do this? No sense having a following feature with no followers!

Yesterday, I left the shop to run to Chapters (big Canadian conglomerate book store - which bugs me because I love small book stores and none of them can stay in business because they don't have the buying power - I could go on and on about these big box stores - urrrr!)to buy the third book by Christopher Paolini - Brisingr - for my son and my sister - it was one of those days at the book store. You know how somedays (if you are a reader)you can walk in the book store and you can't find a single thing to add to your reading pile. (It might be a relief if the same kind of thing happened when in a yarn shop??) Well, yesterday I found lots and lots and could have actually bought more but exercised some self control. What a novel concept - self control when spending money - hmmm! I got the new Oprah Book Club Book - there's excellent buzz about this book - how it might be one of the best books of all time - I've actually added a Book Stash section on my sidebar - if there's one thing that I've found that knitters like almost as much as knitting, it's reading. I think I might start a Pick Up Sticks Book Club at the shop once a month - don't you think that's a good idea? So then if I wasn't knitting, I could be reading because it would be work related.

I've sewn up the shoulder seams of the Trina jacket so now just have to do the collar and sleeves. After this I'm going back to scarves and socks for a while - I need some quicker gratification other than these big sweaters. So....perhaps now I will get off the couch - switch the laundry around - and maybe just maybe get dressed. I love Sundays!

Time Flies....

when you are back at work and trying to get back into the swing of things! It's been so busy with box after box after box of new yarn arriving - we have managed to fit it all in - just when I think it won't - Lisa the wonder helper finds the space. We also both caught colds since our return from Chicago - I think the kids were back in school about 15 minutes and I felt it coming on. What is it about school that brings on the colds? I've been knitting - the new Trina Jacket from Fleece Artist - again really innovative construction with a chunkier yarn that knits up in a snap! The colorway is Mineral and I'm sure I will wear it lots this winter since I love black so much!

There's so much new yarn and not enough time to knit it!

What Could I Possibly Say.....

that would do this trip justice! We had a fanastic time and what a way to end it all - I found this on YouTube - I was trying to obey Harpo Law but as you can see no one else was - makes me so mad that I didn't bring my camera! Anyway....click the link to see what I saw yesterday! Sensational! I'll write more later right now I'm up to my eyeballs in laundry and unpacking but couldn't wait to show you this!
