To Do List

There are lots of things on my to do list today but the first and most important, in my humble opinion, is to blog. We've been recovering all week from the Knitter's Frolic. We were super busy from first thing in the morning right until it ended. Sarah, Lisa and I had a blast - it was so fun to see all those familiar faces! Here are the doors before it even opened - so many knitters!

Then there's our booth - 2 quick shots from Sarah's Blackbird (I mean Blackberry - might have to get me one of those!) Check out the Tim Horton's coffee - nothing like Timmie's to get the day started right!

Sales were amazing - our two top sellers were the wrap from the cover of the current Debbie Bliss Magazine. Our sample was knit from Baby Bamboo which is cheaper but exactly the same yarn! $48 gets you this amazing wrap! Next was the Leaves of Grass wrap knit out of Melody Superwash in Christmas Wreath. $30 includes pattern for this beauty!

Now of course, I did some personal purchasing -I mean - really, who could help themselves? However, I was really quite restrained in terms of other years. Just one small skein of Socks that Rock in Lettuce Knit Colorway and the oh so popular Reisenthal basket. Do I need another knitting bag, basket, container? No but who could resist that one?
And I was also able to purchase some store stock from two of my favorite Indie Dyers! It was also really great to meet both Trish from Indigo Moon and Tanis from Tanis Fiber arts. Here's some Indigo Moon Sock -
and some new DK weight from Tanis Fiber Arts.
Don't forget that there's a Yarn Crawl next weekend - May 9th. Six stores are participating with lots of sales and lots of goodies! Pick Up Sticks is opening at 9 am with coffee and treats for all the crawlers. Here's a map of the route!

I don't have time....

for this....I've been expecting a package to be delivered by UPS for the last two days - still no package today because apparently there's no contact name. Hello.....it says Pick Up Sticks on the box - just come on in and someone will sign for it. I need this box because it has some yarn that I want to take to the Knitter's Frolic (which is Saturday, April 25th and any knitter worth their salt will be there)....they say it will come tomorrow but I'm not going to hold my breath because I might just expire waiting! Now I'm not sure if this sample will be coming with me or not but it's super cute - made from On Your Toes Bamboo sock yarn. A little wrap jacket with a picot edge jumper!
As if this were not annoying enough, I bought new ink cartridges today and of course, couldn't remember the exact kind I needed - but I needed one really badly because I had lots of printing to do to get ready for the show - and guess what -I bought the wrong one! Not only was it the wrong one but I completely unwrapped it - taking off all the protective stuff - and now I can't even return it! Urrrr......

So enough of that - here's some knitting eye candy for you and for me....all will be with me at the Knitter's Frolic along with the yarn!
Here is the Swirl scarf from Jojoland in Melody - it's not all pinned out yet but it will be ready in time!

This piece of gorgeousness is from Norah Gaughan Book 4 made out of Berrocco Pure Pima. This is the long verson - it also comes in a short version. Yum!
This fitted cardigan is knit from Freedom Sincere Organic cotton - it's a great price at $7 per ball and the cardigan has great shaping. I thought the star buttons just added the right amount of zip for such a classic cardigan.

And finally, we have Whirlagig blanket from Jojoland made out of Rhythm. This is a fun knit - not sure how many hexagons I can get done by Friday but it still gives a good idea of what it will look like. All three of these hexagons are knit from the same colorway.
There - I feel much better now after sharing some beautiful knitting.

And we're back.....

we arrived home from Florida last Wednesday - Thursday was taken up with laundry and grocery shopping. That 19 year old boy of ours left us with nothing to drink or eat - not even a slurp of milk for morning coffee. Urrrr!
This was our home away from home for the time we were away - a wonderful 3 bedroom pool home. It's the second year we've stayed in this particular house and we've already booked for next year. We extended our holiday for the Easter weekend but had to move houses.
This was our second home - a bit smaller but still just as nice.

After I finished the Noro Blanket I had to knit a sweater for my mother in law to give as a gift. I chose the Tulips cardigan is some really girly colors. It whipped up in a snap and I'm sure she'll be very pleased. In fact, let's have a little contest. Name the yarn colorways in the sweater in the order that they appear and you will win a skein of Dream in Color Starry in your choice of color. Starry isn't here yet but it will be so let's have some fun! There will be a draw to determine the winner if there are more than one correct guess.
Mark your calendars because next Saturday, April 25 is the Knitter's Frolic in Toronto. If you are a knitter, then this is the place to be. Tons of vendors selling all sorts of fabulous yarn. I love shopping there as much as I love having a booth. Be sure and drop by to say hello!

C'est Finis!

The Noro Kureyon Log Cabin is finished except for sewing in the ends! The colors didn't photograph too well but I'm very proud of it! It was a long project but worth every stitch.
Oh and this - this is where I spend most days!
