So...

things have settled down here for the moment! Although you guys are making it tough for me to have any stock at all to take to the Knitter's Frolic. I'm almost out of Mini Maiden but there's still some nice colors - I've reordered again plus some new stuff from Fleece Artist. Tonight Sarah and Lisa are coming over to start packing up for the show. I'm really looking forward to it and you just never know what I might find to bring back to the shop!

I've only been knitting my STR sock and can't post pictures because I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. But....I can say this - I've opted for a basic sock instead of the pattern they sent - the yarn is sooooo beautiful I just want to show it off on a plain sock.

Have you noticed that Apple Laine is missing from my website? That does not mean I'm not carrying it - somehow, for some reason, it disappeared in the Sweet Georgia madness and I've not had the chance to reload the whole thing. I will do it first thing next week!

Spinning Bunny is restocked with some really, really nice new colors - hopefully Bebop will arrive today so you can have a look!

Oh don't forget ....it's a Knit with Grey's night!

It's A Good Day!

Why you might ask? Well, for one the sun is shining and I love, love, love when the sun shines especially in Spring! You can always tell when it's Spring because the horses start sun bathing. Yup! They are all lying out on the grass soaking up the rays, looking alot like they might be dead. It's amazing to see and causes cars to slow down regularly on our road.

The next reason is that my Rockin Sock Club arrived today! It is breathtaking - stunning - incredible - you name it, it's it! No pictures because I don't want to be a spoiler! For once being "international" gets things here quicker!

And....remember this....well, the yarn arrived today and will be posted over the next couple of days so keep checking! Here's the details (you better sit down......maybe even lie down!):
Handmaiden Fine Yarns
Mini Maiden
50% Silk/50% Wool
500 m/100gr.
3mm
26/4"
If this doesn't make the most luxurious socks I will eat my hat! I loved, loved, loved (well, you get the picture)knitting with it. It's also great for shawls and socks and I think relatively new! I first spied it at my LYS and knew immediately it was something to bring to Pick Up Sticks!
I'm going to start sending out weekly updates with what's coming during the week but I won't be sending any more "time" announcements that something is online at a particular time. That created havoc and lots of frustration for everyone - I think it's better if you check regularly and things actually sell more slowly and are pictured on my website for more than 30 seconds.
By the way, I'm at the Knitter's Frolic this weeked (April 28 9 am - 4 pm) at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Center at Don Mills and Eglinton so if you're local come and check it out. There's 44 vendors and last year that had over 700 knitters! Pure heaven if you ask me!

Good Golly Miss Molly!

I'm baaaack - in fact, I've been back from Florida for a week and every day I wanted to post but first I had to fill the orders that came in while I was away and then I had to put up the Duets that arrived and then well.....Sweet Georgia arrived...more on that later and then when I finally thought I had it all under control, my daughter woke up at 5 am on Friday morning with the flu, so nothing got accomplished that day!

Florida was wonderful - two weeks of warm weather, swimming and shopping! I love Target! I want Target to move to Canada! I did visit a nice little shop in Punta Gorda but there wasn't much in the way of sock yarn. In fact, I really do think that there are two categories of knitters, yarn shop knitters and online knitters. This knitting community we have online is absolutely amazing. As we were driving south, I felt as if I knew people in all the states - in Pennsylvannia - it was - oh, I wonder if I'm near where Isobel lives. Crazy, eh?
I did even manage to get some knitting done while I was away and if you can possibly imagine it, a complete pair of socks. My Socks that Rock Sock Club socks - the pattern was from Favorite Socks. They are very comfy and I perhaps might be inspired to finish a pair more often so that I can actually wear them.

These lovelies are a big surprise! The pattern is the cover sock from Favorite Socks and the yarn is....well, ordered and paid for Pick Up Sticks. I won't tell - even with the threat of death - no one is going to pry this out of me! Just trust me, it's fantastic and you are going to love it!
This is I started last night because:
1. I saw Sarah's
2. I have no attention span when it comes to knitting, especially if it's something I haven't tried before
3. I thought some mindless knitting might be good!
It's a mitered square blanket made from Koigu Kersti that I have in my stash - I'm not sure I like how it's coming out but I can see some potential.
So....Sweet Georgia came in and went out - there were so many online (hundreds and hundreds of you!)all trying to buy at the same time! It lasted just a couple of minutes - even with the server glitch - might have been a crash! Paypal even had a hard time keeping up! All the orders are packed up and shipped - big hugs and big thank you's to all of you!
