I have been knitting - these are Fleece Artist Sea Wool Bordello Socks in Amethyst. I love, love, love this yarn! It's heavier than regular sock yarn so it's a quick knit. They have a beautiful sheen to them. The yarn came in and went out - there's still a few skeins left - but only about 10 out of the 74 that I got. There's already another big order that's been placed.
I've given up on most of my socks without partners! I've cleaned out my knitting bag and have re-filled it with yarn I'm taking to Florida. There's Fleece Artist Merino Sock, Socks that Rock February yarn, Yarn Pirate in Isobel, a surprise one that I'm hoping to get for the shop, one skein of Louets in Pink Panther to finish my Adare Manor and uh.....oh yeah! my own February Sock Club Kit! Do you think that's enough? I'm worried that I will want to knit something but won't have it.
This is what Sarah and Meghan and I did last night. It's official I am now a commercial account with Canada Post - which interestingly, does not save me a dime on shipping, but does give me these lovely canvas bags to pack my boxes in for pick up. That's right, they pick them up from me, instead of me trudging to the post office with garbage bags full of boxes. And I have to admit - it was getting a bit embarassing lugging 3 or 4 or sometimes 5 or 6 garbage bags out of the car, across the parking lot into the post office. A couple of times there were so many, I actually took them to more than one post office.

How long are you going to Florida for? You have enough yarn for 6 pairs of socks. That would keep me busy for at least 5 weeks (and that would be a lot of knitting in those 5 weeks).
Congratulations on the Canada Post thing; it definately looks more professional!! I understand the "excessive" yarn packing...you just never know what you might feel like knitting AND horrors of horrors...there might not be a wool shop nearby!!!
Have fun; happy trails!

Awesome on the canvas bags Connie and the fact that they'll pick up for you! Hope that makes it easier for you. Love the socks too and once you get to Florida you'll be able to relax...I know it's stressful getting ready!
Your socks look lovely - which pattern did you use? I am also knitting a pair of socks using Fleece Artist merino & it's not as soft as other merino that I have used. Must try the Sea Wool. Have a good trip.
Your packing situation is the same one I face every weekend for trips to the cottage. I pack for me and the child, get all the food together, any and all assorted other things that need to go - (yarn, toys, laundry from last weekend, stuff that was purchased for the cottage), and get it ready for when hubby arrives home. He throws clothes in a bag and is set. And once we get there, he's always asking "Did we bring X?" Of course we did, or at least, I did...
Enjoy Florida, once ou get down there!
Have a tonne of fun in Florida!! I love the sacks from Canada Post!! They definitely have a bit more of a classy look than garbage bags.
And today (Wednesday) the parcel in the bag on the right arrived at my door with my March kit in it :). Lovely, lovely - one of my favourites, guess what the Yarn Pr_n on my blog will be :) ?
Different post offices, that's funny. Sounds like something I would do. Glad they felt you deserving of canvas and pick-ups. You're movin' up!!
